Unfortunately, there is not recalling option provided for users with email addresses ending in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com. These are all web-based email services where once an email is sent, it leaves from your email server and can’t be recalled. Although there is no email recalling feature to unsend an email, you can use the “Undo” option to undo a sent email from MSN.

Steps to Undo a Send Email from MSN


While the Undo feature in Outlook.com doesn’t allow you to recall an email once it is sent from your account, but it helps by delaying the sending process, giving you time to cancel the process if you change your mind. The “Undo” feature allows you to delay sending your email for 5 or 10 seconds. To know how to enable the Undo send option, follow these steps:

1. In your Outlook.com account, you will first need to click on the Settings (gear icon) option located at the top of the page and select View all Outlook settings option.

2. Next, you will need to select the Mail option and then click on the Compose and reply option.

3. Then, go to the “Undo Send” section and select how long Outlook.com will wait to send your message.

4. Once you are done making the changes, you can click on the Save option. All the changes you would have made will be saved right away.

Once you would have configured the Undo send option, you will see an Undo send prompt located at the bottom of the message list whenever you send a new email. The prompt will be available for the length you would have configured in the Compose and reply option.

Using the message recall feature, an email sent by you is retrieved from the mailboxes of the recipients who have not accessed it yet. There is also a replacement option available which allows the user to substitute a recalled message. The recalling feature is available once you click Send and is only available if you and the recipient both have a Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Exchange email account in the same organization. Below are the steps that you will need to follow to recall and replace an email.

NOTE: The below-mentioned steps are for new versions only.

1. Open the Outlook program on your computer and go to t the folder pane located on the left-hand side of the Outlook window.

2. In the folder pane, you will need to select the Sent Items folder.

3. Once you are in the Sent Items folder, you will need to open the email which you wish to recall. To open the email, you will need to double-click on the message. Selecting the email will only make it appears in the reading window and you will not be able to recall the email.

4. Then, from the Message tab, you will need to select the Actions option and then click on the Recall This Message option.

NOTES:

· In case you don’t find the Recall This Message command, it means that you are not having an Exchange account or maybe the feature is not available within your organization.

· If you are trying to recall an email that is protected by Azure Information Protection, you will not be able to do so.

· You will not be able to recall a message in Outlook on the web.


5. After that, you will need to click on the Delete unread copies of this message or Delete unread copies and replace with a new message option, and then click on the OK button.

6. In case you are searching for a replacement message, you will need to compose the email, and then click on the Send button.
